Shopping

As mentioned (probably many times) earlier, we will be going on a cruise to Alaska in June. Well, after reading the dress code requirements, I realized I was lacking in the informal and formal apparel (i.e. I had nothing to wear!) Well, it just so happened that Sarah and I both had a day off Memorial day, and we joined the crowds and shopped literally until we nearly dropped.

We started off at Northgate target where I found cute little informal dress.

Then we took the bus downtown (an adventure for me, a daily routine for Sarah). Our first stop was Ross where we both tried on several outfits but only left with athletic socks for Sarah, and a black sleeveless top for me. Next stop was Nordstroms where Sarah found an amazing pair of heels with an amazing price to match. But no luck for me there. We quickly browsed through a GAP, then moved on to Nordstrom Rack. Jack pot! I found not just one, but two formal dresses, plus a pair of dress shoes to match.

We were in need of a break by then, so we stopped at Market Bagel and enjoyed delicious bagel sandwiches as well as a view of the swarms of people downtown. I felt like a tourist myself when we walked past Pike Place Market and stood in the midst of towering buildings. Sarah on the other hand works downtown, so she can see this stuff every day of the week.

We stopped in Macy's and found a top for us both, then some fancy wraps to cover my shoulders (note all the dresses are sleeveless). Then a stop at Juan Valdez to enjoy some coffee, a much needed pick me up. Last stop was Victoria Secret...oh la la. Then home to our husbands who were readying the grill for shish kabobs and stuffed mushrooms...YUM!
